Living on campus will help you get the most out of your time at JCU. With five different accommodation types housing over 1,200 students on-site in Townsville, living on campus is a great place to make new friends, learn about the local culture and get the most out of your studies.

ON-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION

JCU Townsville has room for approximately 1,200 students to live on-campus. You can choose from long corridor or townhouse living, a 3 bedroom flat with a living room, a 6 to 8 bedroom self-catered apartment, a single sexed long corridor or unisex wing with an ensuite or 8 to 12 rooms per deck with a shared ensuite option. The on-campus residences offer a range of living and support options to suit individual preferences.

OFF-CAMPUS ACCOMMODATION

If you would prefer to live off campus, the JCU Accommodation team can assist you with finding off-campus housing in nearby share houses, private rental properties, homestays and hostels. We suggest checking in with the Accommodation team before signing a lease so that they can help you to understand all terms and conditions. There are also Homestay options if you’d like to live with an Australian family to get the full Aussie experience.

SHORT-TERM ACCOMMODATION

If you need accommodation for less than a semester or just for the first week or two until you are settled, we can definitely help you to find a place to stay. Just ask our friendly Accommodation team for assistance.

LIVING COSTS

Whether you choose on-campus or off-campus accommodation, living in Townsville generally costs less than living in a capital city. This means you’ll have more money to spend on the fun stuff!
